Professional Experience

I work as a senior inspection engineer (as a team leader for five engineers and fourteen technicians), tasks and duties which briefed for me can be summarized as followings:
• Inspection and testing for non-rotary refinery equipment (including pressure vessels, columns, heaters, heat exchangers, boilers, safety valves, storage tanks , and pipe lines) in order to assure continued and safe operation, as required by codes and standards.
• Preparing inspection techniques according to standards and codes.
• Inspecting for safety valves (cold and hot settings).
• Crack elimination for sphere tanks (internal and external welding lines).
• In-service inspection on the refinery equipments.
• Recommending which equipment needs to be replaced or repaired without affecting the production process.
• Preparing overhaul inspection schedule and work lists.
• Issuing overhaul inspection reports.
• Issuing monthly work reports.
• Participation in qualification, examination and certification of welders, pipe fitters, grinders and fabricators.
• Repair Sheets Issuance according to set of regulations:
- Checking the work permits where required.
- Understanding equipment drawing, design, and maintenance and operation history.
- Performing NDT where deemed necessary.
- Checking the availability of required material for repair, & searching alternatives.
- Preparing repair sheet which must include:
o Description of the condition found.
o Materials to be used in repair process.
o Welding procedures, techniques, materials, & treatment.
• Training for fresh junior engineers.
• Employing Non-Destructive Tests:
- Visual Inspection.
- Ultra Sonic waves Test (flaw Detection)
- Ultrasonic Thickness measurements (UT).
- Magnetic Particles Test (MPT).
- Penetrant Test (PT).
- Hydrostatic Pressure Test.
- Pneumatic Pressure Tightness Test.
- Microstructure Examination.
- Acoustic Emission Test.
• Participation in the reception of newly received equipment or materials.
• Participation in the qualification and certification of Semi-trailer road tankers for transporting L.P.G. according to specification tests.
