Egyptian electricity exports to Jordan, Lebanon and Syria hit an unprecedented record in light of the suspension of gas exports to the power plants of the three countries, according to a report of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company on Wednesday 16/3/2011.
The exporting of electrical power hit its maximum capacity of 450 megawatt, according to the report sent to Electricity Minister Hassan Yunis on the condition of the unified power grid.
Egypt's electricity exports to these countries are measured by global prices of each kilowatt, the report said. The report stressed that Egypt is continuing to feed the power network of the Palestinian territories in Rafah and southern Gaza Strip with a capacity of 17 megawatt, the report said.
