Eng. Sameh Fahmy the Egyptian Petroleum Minister has witnessed the start up of the first and largest Oil & Gas pipes production facility in Egypt.
The importance of this project is emphasized by the participation of leading Egyptian and Kuwaiti companies on a joint venture basis. The companies are specialized in steel pipe production, pipeline projects, and petroleum transportation and handling projects. The joint venture consists of 2 companies from Kuwait with 60% of the total shares and 4 companies from Egypt (Enppi, Petrojet, Gasco and Abou Zaabal Company) with 40% shares. The total investment of the project is $95 million.
The project has all the elements of success, and would supply the second stage of the Arab Pipeline project with pipes needed for natural gas transfer from Egypt to Jordan. The pipes production facility uses state of the art technology and adopts a strict quality control system to ensure the production according to international standards. Petrojet has executed the project in Port Said, the factory will generate more than 300 job opportunities.
