Tenaris Earns First API Certification For Coiled Tubing

Tenaris Coiled Tubes – Downhole Center, located in Houston, was formally certified by the American Petroleum Institute on Monday April 25, 2011. Tenaris Coiled Tubes is the first in the coiled tubing industry to receive the API license.

Defined in April 2010, API Specification 5ST covers the manufacturing, inspection, and testing of all carbon and low-alloy steel coiled tubing in grades CT70, CT80, CT90, CT100 and CT110, in certain designations and wall thicknesses that can be used as workstrings, completion strings, and static installations in oil and gas wells.
