Gazprom has elected Sergey Mazanov as Director General of Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy. Sergey Mazanov was born in 1970 in the Kuibyshev Region. In 1998 he graduated from Tyumen State Oil and Gas University majoring in Oil and Gas Fields Development and Operation. He holds a PhD in Engineering.
Sergey Mazanov has served in Gazprom for 22 years now.
Between 1988 and 1989 – Apprentice Operator of Process Units at the Urengoy Gas Condensate Treatment Plant, Grade 4 Oil and Gas Production Operator at the Urengoygazdobycha Production Association.
Between 1991 and 2003 – Oil and Gas Production Operator, then Oil and Gas Production Engineer, Lead Engineer of the Central Engineering and Processing Service, Deputy Head, Head of the Engineering and Operation Division, Deputy Head for Production of the Oil and Gas Production Directorate, Yamburggazdobycha.
Between 2003 and 2012 – Head of the Operation Division for Gas and Gas Condensate Production, Deputy Director General for Prospective Development at Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg (former Yamburggazdobycha).
Rim Suleimanov, the former head of Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy, was relieved of his post due to retirement.
