The GCC Environmental and Sustainable Development Forum (GEF) is returning between 4 – 6 April 2017 at Jeddah Hilton, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Once again it will be held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Originally under the initiative of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment since 2010, the 6th edition will be under the initiative of the General Authority for Meteorology and Environment Protection. This change is due to the Royal Decrees that were ordered by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on 8 May 2016.

Since the launch of GEF in 2010, the event has grown over the years in prestige and popularity to assert itself as Saudi Arabia’s flagship environmental event.
GEF 2017 is the only event to address the multitude of issues in environment protection and sustainability facing all regions across the GCC. It will focus on developing the regions renewable energy sector to support a developing economy, to create localised job opportunities and to maintain resources.
