TNK-BP has begun building the 450 mcm pa Pokrovskaya gas treatment unit as part of its Orenburg Integrated Project, which is aimed at virtually eliminating flaring of associated gas and minimizing air emissions in the region.
The Pokrovskaya GTU will cost $195.9 mln and is scheduled for commissioning in May 2012.
The Orenburg Integrated Project, which embraces the main groups of fields operated by OJSC Orenburgneft and NGDU Sorochinskneft, involves building additional treatment facilities, new gas pipelines and gas compressor stations.
The project will raise the level of associated gas utilization at TNK-BP’s sites in the region to 95% in the near future.
