Landmark, a brand of the Halliburton Digital and Consulting Solutions Division, has been awarded a five-year contract to provide software maintenance and support at LUKOIL’s headquarters in Moscow and in the LUKOIL-Komi company unit in the northwest region of Russia.
Records indicate that the application of Landmark’s integrated interpretation software by LUKOIL’s geological department has considerably reduced the time for defining drilling targets in the oilfields of West Siberia and Timan-Pechora regions developed by LUKOIL.
“We believe that this five-year commitment to Landmark indicates that our technology has become an integrated component of LUKOIL’s petrotechnical workflow,” said Andrei Kalinichev, regional manager, HDCS Eurasia region.
The new contract includes maintenance and support for geological and geophysical technologies, reservoir management software and GeoGraphix® products. Landmark software applications used by LUKOIL allow interactive 3D volume interpretation, ultra-fast visualization, reliable pre-stack analysis and seismic interpretation. LUKOIL also has Landmark’s reservoir simulation tool, which helps asset teams accurately estimate fluid flow so that they can make better decisions thus increasing reserves and productivity.
The Landmark Technology Assistance Center in Russia providing applications support to LUKOIL has been certified by the international Support Center Practices program, which defines best practices in technology support. The contract will allow LUKOIL to receive software updates for the next five years and to have access to Landmark support services experts.
