OMV Exploration and Production Ltd. has awarded Dietsmann a Facilities Management Services contract to take over the operation and maintenance of all facilities of the existing OMV operation in Shatirah. The Shatirah Field is located in concession block NC-163 in the Libyan Desert, around 300 km south of Bengasi.

Under the contract, Dietsmann will provide operation and maintenance services for the production station and water injection facilities (1,400 BPD, net oil). This will include a new production plant installation and water injection wells, which are due to come on stream with the upgrading and centralizing of the facilities during the first half of 2010. The contract will provide employment for a number of Libyan nationals and has an initial duration of two years, for which the associated value is around USD 3,147,000.

The contract also includes spare parts and chemicals management services, which will be executed with the support of Dietsmann Technologies from Europe. The project is expected to improve the ongoing maintenance programme. OMV selected Dietsmann for its commitment to reducing the transition period with the current contractor and for Dietsmann’s reputation for the efficient operation and maintenance of oil, gas and power production facilities in Libya and worldwide.
