Baiji Refinery is Important to Provide Oil Products

Mr. Jabbar A. Allibi the minister of oil said that it is necessary to restart Baiji refinery in Salah Uddin province to make use of it in providing and producing the oil derivatives for the local use, as well as the necessary fuel for the power generators to reduce its exportation. Mr. Allibi ordered the concerned authorities in the ministry of oil to make a detailed report about the situation of the refinery and determine the level of damage which was caused by the military actions, as well as to determine the facilities which can be used again to re-build the refinery. Mr. Allibi said that it is necessary to make a complete technical & economic study to re-build and rehabilitate the refinery and build a new one on the same location or another location in Baiji city with a production power of (200) thousand barrels/ day with modern international standards by depending on the local & foreign investment. It is worthy to mention that this refinery were sabotaged by the terrorists during the military actions at 2014 & 2015.
