Micoperi SPA signed an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with Quantum Power Ghana Gas Limited (Quantum Power) for the Tema LNG import terminal located close to Accra in Ghana (Tema LNG Project). Earlier this year, the Tema LNG Project executed an offtake agreement with Ghana's national oil and gas company and national gas aggregator, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) as well as a time charter party agreement with Hoegh LNG of Norway. The contract is subject to customary conditions precedent.

The EPC contract is for the construction of the full off- and on-shore project infrastructure, which will connect the Floating Storage Regasification Unit utilized by the Project to the on-shore gas distribution network. The infrastructure construction for the project is planned to start early 2017 and to be ready in 12 months following commencement of the construction work.

Micoperi's Vice President, Claudio Bartolotti, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded the contract with Quantum Power for their new LNG import terminal in Ghana, which is of strategic importance, not only for Ghana but also the wider West Africa region. Micoperi’s established experience in Ghana and in delivering similar projects in other markets ensures execution to the highest international standards.”

Quantum Power's CEO, Matty Vengerik, commented "Partnering up with Micoperi on delivering this critical infrastructure for Ghana, is the culmination of a long and arduous process, which will provide Ghana with execution excellence, technology leadership and cost efficiency. This project shall restore Ghana’s energy reliability, security and regional competitiveness. We are looking forward to its timely commissioning."
