Abbas Araghchi, senior Iranian diplomat who was directly involved in Iran’s nuclear talks with the P5+1 group of countries, lauded the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum for its achievements since implementation of the deal Iran struck with the group.

Addressing conference on Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the title of the deal, and the Economy of Resistance in Tehran on Saturday, the diplomat said that the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum is one of the sectors that is a forerunner in materialization of the JCPOA.

“Oil and gas was one of the sectors that really helped us feel relieved after the talks,” he said in the conference.

Araghchi, who serves as the Deputy Foreign Minister for International and Legal Affairs, further said all the restrictions concerning the JCPOA were lifted after the deals implementation back in January 2016 and the remaining ones are not related to the nuclear talks.

He also said that the petroleum ministry made the most out of the JCPOA and recaptured Iran’s share in the market to the pre-sanctions’ levels.
