Kuwaiti Ministry Signs $42M to Import, Assemble Power Cables

The State of Kuwait signed a KD 14 million (US$ 42 million) deal to import and assemble XLPE insulated cables and fiber optics, said Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity and Water Bakheet Al-Rashidi.

A statement by the Ministry of Electricity and Water said that the 132-kilovolt cables would be mainly used in the new expansion of the Kuwaiti International Airport. Around 252 kilometers of cables would be imported to cover 84 kilometers of the airport's power grid, the statement added.
