Uhde Inventa-Fischer has entered into a contract with the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) to provide the technology license and the complete basic engineering of the 2nd PET Resin expansion of its manufacturing affiliate, Arabian Industrial Fiber Company (Ibn Rushd) at its site in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. The plant will have an annual capacity of 420'000 ton and will produce various grades of PET Resin at the same time such as bottle still water and CSD application, among others.
SABIC's latest PET Resin addition goes along with its impressive expansion program at Ibn Rushd which among several other projects consists of an extension of their PTA plant as the raw material source for the PET Plant.
Based on SABIC specific project, end-product and logistic requirements (brown field extension of its existing PET facility), Uhde Inventa-Fischer will be able to provide an integrated and tailor-made plant design and technology concept to meet all specific process and product requirements of SABIC by using its proprietary owned melt phase PET Technology.
