Indian state-run explorer Oil & Natural Gas Corp said it has discovered gas at a block in the northeastern state of Tripura. The gas contains up to 96.3 percent methane, it added.
The exploratory well in the West Tripura block in the Assam and Assam Arakan basin flowed gas from an interval 2,164 metres - 2,168 metres at a rate of 160,000 million cubic metres per day, the company said in a statement.
