Formation Details  The Uinta Basin CBM play is located on the west side of the San Rafael Swell, at the Southwest edge of the Uinta basin and is considered one of the major coalbed methane producing areas in the U.S.
Notes  The Uinta Basin formed as a result of uplift and deformation that began in the Late Cretaceous. The Cretaceous sediments outcrop along the perimeter of the basin. The basin is asymmetrical in shape with strata on the northern flank of the basin dipping steeply toward the basin axis, while strata on the southern flank dip gently toward the basin axis.
