With many oil trading companies setting offices there and with over 6000 barrels traded every day on the Dubai Mercantile Exchange, Dubai is an unquestionable oil trading hub. Not far from there, the African region represents a great potential, in terms of production and consumption of oil. While working in these regions can be extremely profitable, there are risks attached to trading oil in the area. The Summit will highlight best practices in terms of market, counterparty, political, and financial risks management, to help Risk Managers and Trading Specialists adjust their approaches to the business in Middle-East and Africa.

Expert speakers from oil trading companies will engage in discussions around hedging strategies, credit risk management, currency risk and interest rate risk. There will be sessions shedding light on how to better forecast political events likely to affect companies’ ability to trade oil, including a session on trade sanctions and a case study of a country in conflict. One workshop will also be introduced to analyse in-depth risk management culture, how it should be implemented, and how you can make it an essential part of the decision making processes. The oil consuming companies’ perspective will be part of the focus too, with sessions looking into fuel price and supply risk management.

OTRE MEA 2015 will also facilitate extensive networking opportunities. Breaks, Lunches, Drinks Reception, and Gala Dinner held during the Summit will be the perfect setting for you and your team to establish or reinforce contacts within the industry.
