The 2nd Jordan International Energy Summit (JIES2) is being held on the 16 – 17 May 2016 under the patronage of the Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources, Dr Ibrahim Saif. As the Ministry’s official event JIES attracted over 300 delegates from the world’s leading energy companies, JIES 2 is once again a one of a kind event which will gather together all facets of the energy mix. JIES 2 will give context to developments in the domestic sector whilst also appealing to international experts and potential investors.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has a vibrant energy sector with a high potential for growth, as well as a wealth of investment opportunities. Jordan has what it takes to promote itself as an attractive regional base for international oil companies, and renewable energy suppliers to service both the Iraq and the Levant Operations.

JIES provides a much-needed platform for the Jordanian government to engage with international and local investors to update the industry on the latest progress in the plans. It will showcase the country’s energy mix and the related investment opportunities including, oil shale, gas, nuclear, solar, renewables and mining, available within the Kingdom and throughout the region.

More importantly, JIES2 will highlight the importance of Jordan to international oil and gas giants and service providers as a stable and secure base to set up their regional offices and service operations for the rest of the region, highlighting the profitability of this option, and branding Jordan as a major player in the oil and gas regional industry.

The summit programme will identify the latest opportunities, challenges and solutions for the successful and sustainable development of the Energy industry in Jordan and putting a special emphasis on the social and economic benefits, as well as the local content in Jordan.
