Despite the current scenario of economic uncertainties, oil and gas demand looks set to continue growing without a background of significant alternative energy sources in the near future. The Oil industry is challenged to develop and deploy technologies that will allow the new frontier in offshore development. Forecasts reveal that in the Asia Pacific region alone, 42 floating production units are expected to be deployed by 2012. This is the largest number of units for any geographical region.
Accepting the need base for a sustainable future & energy security; the conference theme; ' India’s Deepwater potential – Drilling & Logistic Challenges’ is built to reveal both concerns, opportunities and an understanding of the road ahead. It was recently estimated that a significant financial resource will be made available for India’s deep water exploration and production sector over the next decade. The required deep water knowledge base will be the focus on an event where technology challenges will be discussed, together with the all important technical challenge in sub-sea development & the answer to the all important question; 'What type of sub-sea technology roadmap will the industry require for its deep water requirements'?
