Alpex Solar Limited, India’s leading
manufacturer of solar systems, announced that it has received prestigious orders for
the supply, installation, and commissioning of 500 solar water pumping systems from the
Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency. The orders were received under the
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Yojana (PM-KUSUM
Scheme).
In March this year, Greater Noida-based Alpex Solar also bagged multiple orders worth Rs
43.70 crore in Haryana under the PM-KUSUM scheme. The company is also empanelled and
approved for the installation of solar water pumps in the state of Rajasthan.
The company manufactures PV modules using monocrystalline and polycrystalline cell
technologies. Its product portfolio comprises bifacial, mono-perc, and Halfcut solar PV
modules. It also offers comprehensive solar energy solutions, including engineering,
procurement, and construction (EPC) of AC/DC Solar Pumps in both Surface and Submersible
categories.
Speaking on the new orders, Ashwani Sehgal, Managing Director, Alpex Solar Limited,
said, “The new order for supply, installation and commissioning of 500 Solar Water Pumping
Systems from Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency is a testimony to the
company’s steadfast commitment to priorities the solar water pumps business and its proven
track record. We aim to be one of the market leaders in this segment and are actively looking
to expand our footprint across various regions of the country.”
“The installation of solar pumps in rural areas will help boost the local economy and ensure a
more sustainable way of development by focusing on green energy. This will not only help
improve the productivity of food grains and other crops but will also help empower the farmer
community at large, thereby bringing a more meaningful change in the rural hinterland of the
country,” Ashwani added.
Govt of India’s flagship scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan
Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM), is aimed at ensuring energy security for farmers in India, along
with honouring India’s commitment to increase the share of installed capacity of electric power
from non-fossil-fuel sources to 40% by 2030 as part of Intended Nationally Determined
Contributions (INDCs). Under the Component-B of the scheme, individual farmers will be
supported in installing standalone solar agriculture pumps of capacity up to 7.5 HP for
replacement of existing diesel agriculture pumps / irrigation systems in off-grid areas where
grid supply is not available. Pumps of capacity higher than 7.5 HP can also be installed.
Recently, the Board of Directors of Alpex Solar also accorded consent to the allotment of
25,873.27 sq. mtr. (~7 acres) of land by the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development
Authority (UPSIDA) at Kosi Kotwan (on National Highway 19) in Mathura at an estimated sum
of Rs 15.04 crore. The land parcel would be used to set up a manufacturing facility for solar
panels and modules and would receive the due approval of all the authorities at an appropriate
time.
