Techouse has delivered a new sulfate removal unit (SRU) for installation onboard the FPSO Voyageur Spirit. The platform, which formerly operated in the UK North Sea, is being modified for Phase 2 of Eni’s deepwater Baleine Field development offshore Côte d’Ivoire. Sulfate removal technology produces low-sulfate water for injection in offshore wells.

Techouse engineered, built and delivered the SRU less than 12 months from the contract award and also performed the FEED for the project.

Its offices (located in Stavanger and Oslo, Norway; Glasgow, Scotland; and Qingdao, China) shared engineering, project management and procurement.

Audex Fujirha in Fujairah in the UAE fabricated the 200-metric-ton SRU under subcontract to Techouse. The module sailed on a barge to DryDocks World in Dubai, where the Voyageur Spirit FPSO is undergoing upgrade works for the owner and operator, Altera Infrastructure Norway.

Once completed, the FPSO will be transported to the offshore location at the Baleine Field.
