40MW NamPower’s Otjikoto Biomass Power Project is set to begin construction soon, bringing over 2,500 jobs and boosting our local economy. This milestone project paves firm grounds for learning and improving several industry activities such as diverse inclusive feedstock supply strategies (large scale & ad hoc supplies), implementation of sustainability frameworks such as FSC in wood chipping projects, implementation of inclusive business models (community-based systems), strengthening capacity building, research, and other socio-economic issues (gender mainstreaming) for the industry.
