"Green Development, Low-Carbon Life" themed dialogue was held in Beijing, under the guidance of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Beijing Municipal People's Government and hosted by China Newsweek. China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation won the title of Low-Carbon Case of 2024.
In the roundtable dialogue on the revelation of the energy revolution, the relevant department heads of Sinopec introduced the group company's low-carbon transformation experience. Sinopec has carried out eight carbon peak actions based on actual conditions, including improving the supply capacity of clean and low-carbon energy, transforming and upgrading the refining industry structure, and optimizing and adjusting the energy structure. Compared with 2020, in 2023, Sinopec's energy consumption per 10,000 yuan of output value and carbon emissions per 10,000 yuan of output value will decrease by 5.1% and 11.8% respectively, the proportion of coal consumption in fuel energy consumption will decrease by 1.1 percentage points, the terminal electrification rate will be around 15%, the comprehensive utilization rate of industrial solid waste will reach 90.2%, and a total of 117 carbon neutrality demonstration projects will be built.
