Iberdrola, through its company in Brazil, Neoenergia, has signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement with the Ministry of Defence to install 10 solar self-consumption systems in Armed Forces buildings and replace 3,600 inefficient light bulbs with LED models, which are 40% cheaper than traditional ones.

The plants will be located in army, navy and air force buildings in the Federal District, Bahia, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte and Sao Paulo. Their installation and commissioning, as well as the replacement of lights, should be completed before the end of the year.

The aim of this action is to promote the use of clean and renewable energy and reducing the institutions' electricity bills.
