Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore&Engineering Co., Ltd, (hereinafter referred to as "CIMC SOE"), announced the signing of an order for two new LNG vessels with Vitol International Shipping Pte Ltd ( hereinafter referred to as "VIS"), a subsidiary of the renowned international commodities trader, Vitol. This significant collaboration marks another solid step forward for CIMC SOE in the LNG bunkering vessel sector.
Vitol has been involved in LNG trading for over 20 years. The company is expanding its global footprint, having traded over 17 million tons of LNG globally last year. Vitol has been investing in biomethane infrastructure through its subsidiary ViGo bioenergy. Another subsidiary, Vitol Bunkers, is one of the world's leading marine fuel suppliers. As such, it holds a unique advantage in offering a comprehensive range of fuels and decarbonization solutions to customers worldwide, covering conventional marine fuels, biofuels, LNG, biomethane, and methanol. This partnership with CIMC SOE will further strengthen Vitol's position in the global bunkering sector.
The vessels contracted under this agreement consist of a 12,500 cbm LNG bunkering vessel and a 20,000 cbm LNG carrier/bunker vessel. Both will be built based on CIMC SOE's latest and most advanced LNG bunkering vessel design, prioritizing safety, economy, and environmental friendliness, while boasting excellent transportation and bunkering capabilities.
