TGS, a global leader in energy data and intelligence, has announced a new 2D seismic reprocessing project in East Java, Indonesia. This initiative covers over 4,600 kilometers of seismic data in the southwestern part of the basin.
Building on TGS's extensive experience in seismic imaging, particularly in offshore Indonesia, this project is the fifth in the East Java basin processed this year. The project employs advanced processing techniques, including broadband Pre-Stack Time Migration (PSTM), Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM), and Full Wave Inversion (FWI), to deliver high-quality imaging tailored to the region's unique geological features.
"TGS is committed to delivering high-quality subsurface imaging in the East Java Sea," said David Hajovsky, EVP of Multi-Client at TGS. "Our data in the region aims to provide new insights into the deeper basin structure and stratigraphy, targeting a broad range of geological features including conventional traps, carbonates, stratigraphic plays, and fractured basement."
This multi-client seismic reprocessing project is supported by industry funding.
