Sheikh Dr. Nimer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah: The Gulf Petroleum Media Forum plays a pivotal role in spreading awareness of the importance of energy - We aim to build a new generation of specialized media professionals who can convey a clear and thoughtful image of the energy sector The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Sheikh Dr. Nimer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah, said that the Petroleum Media Forum plays a pivotal role in spreading awareness of the importance of energy in the Gulf and global economy, and contributes to building a bridge of effective communication between the public and the parties concerned with energy issues, which enhances transparency and a deep understanding of these issues. The statement of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil came on the sidelines of his participation with a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Oil in the Fifth Gulf Petroleum Media Forum under the slogan "Gulf Petroleum Media: Enabling Communication and Enhancing Understanding" held on August 7 and 8, 2024 in Dhofar Governorate - Salalah in the Sultanate of Oman.
Sheikh Dr. Nemer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah explained that organizing the fifth session of the forum comes within the context of enhancing the petroleum media strategy of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which aims to highlight the role of the oil and gas sector and the outstanding achievements of the oil industry in the GCC countries, and to shed light on its contributions to the development of the national economy of all Gulf countries. He stated that the forum includes a variety of activities and events that aim to exchange experiences and knowledge between participants and specialists from the oil and gas sector and those working in the media sector.
These activities include dialogue sessions and interactive discussions on best practices in petroleum media, and workshops presented by experts specialized in various fields of the oil and gas sector. He added: "We look forward to seeing the impact of this forum on the future of petroleum media in the region, through the exchange of experiences and review of the latest developments, as we aim to build a new generation of specialized media professionals who can convey a clear and thoughtful image of the energy sector, which contributes to enhancing public understanding and supporting sustainable policies for the Gulf countries." The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil concluded his statement by stressing that the forum will contribute to raising the level of awareness among the public about energy-related issues and enhancing their understanding of the importance of this vital sector in the global economy.
