Dhofar hosts the 5th GCC Petroleum Media Forum

Under the patronage of H.E. Mohsen bin Hamad Al-Hadrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the 5th GCC Petroleum Media Forum was held in the Governorate of Dhofar. Organized by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals under the umbrella of the GCC Secretariat General, the forum aimed to enhance the media's role in promoting the energy industry, particularly in the oil and gas industries.

The Petroleum Media Forum aims to empower communication and foster cooperation between media professionals and energy experts. It seeks to provide media professionals with the latest insights to combat misinformation and address industry challenges. By fostering dialogue and knowledge sharing, the forum seeks to empower media professionals to effectively cover the energy industry.

In his opening remarks, H.E. Mohsen bin Hamad Al-Hadrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, welcomed the participants, stating: "The convening of this forum in the Sultanate of Oman is a testament to the strong ties between the GCC countries. By bringing together media and industry experts, this forum aims to highlight the importance of this vital economic industry and to facilitate the exchange of ideas and expertise among media professionals and experts." He added, "We recognize the challenges facing the energy industry and strive to provide accurate and objective information to both domestic and international audiences."

The forum featured panel discussions and workshops that explored ways to maximize the benefits of petroleum resources, honing the skills of media professionals in the energy industry, highlighting energy transitions and the global importance of energy security. The forum also addressed issues such as environmental and social sustainability in the energy industry and the role of the media in addressing future challenges. The forum was attended by a distinguished group of key stakeholders from the GCC's energy and media industries, which significantly boosted the event and prompted the exchange of perspectives and expertise to foster cooperation in this vital field.

The 5th GCC Petroleum Media Forum demonstrates the commitment of the GCC countries to enhancing cooperation and communication in the energy industry. It underlines the crucial role of the media in fostering a deeper understanding of energy-related issues.
