NOW and the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure are providing information to visitors of the leading international trade fair for logistics, commercial vehicles, buses and the transport sector in Hanover. The new Lkw-LadeinfrastrukturMONITORING – the revised vehicle database of all climate-friendly commercial vehicle models, and new features of the eBusTOOL, will be among the presentations.

IAA Transportation takes place from 17 to 22 September 2024 in Hanover. This year, the focus is on sustainability and the future of logistics. NOW GmbH, together with the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure has an exhibition stand at the fair and will provide information about current topics and projects in the area of sustainable logistics and commercial vehicles.

Climate-friendly commercial vehicles and charging infrastructure for trucks
The commercial vehicle database, developed and currently being expanded by NOW GmbH will be displayed. It contains all commercial vehicles with alternative drives that are either available or announced on the market. Various filters, such as range, type and vehicle class, aid the search for specific commercial vehicle models. There are also two new factsheets, offering a compact overview of the truck toll and participation in the GHG quota trading. The vehicle database, other tools, as well as comprehensive information on topics related to trucks and commercial vehicles with zero-emission drives can be found on the website: www.klimafreundliche-nutzfahrzeuge.de

The National Centre for Charging Infrastructure will present Lkw-LadeinfrastrukturMONITORING (dashboard that monitors charging infrastructure for trucks) for the first time. The new dashboard provides an overview of the number of publicly accessible charging points for trucks in Germany at the end of 2024. Filtering allows the data for example, to analyse specific regions. The inventory displayed in the dashboard corresponds to the feedback received so far from operators of truck charging infrastructure from a survey conducted by the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure in the summer of 2024. The inventory includes charging points in operation as well as those that will be built by the end of 2024 but currently in the installation phase.

The dashboard also contains an outlook on future expansion in the framework of the planned fast-charging network for trucks along federal motorways. This is a project of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV), supported by Autobahn GmbH of the federal government and the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure, for the establishment of a nationwide, comprehensive charging infrastructure for trucks along federal highways. The first round of tenders for charging infrastructure at unmanaged rest areas for the fast-charging truck network began on 16 September 2024. Specialised teams will be providing information about this at IAA Transportation.

Lkw-LadeinfrastrukturMONITORING as well as further information on the fast-charging truck network can also be found here: www.nationale-leitstelle.de/nutzfahrzeuge.

Alternative drives for passenger buses
In the bus and rail sector, NOW GmbH will present new features in eBusTOOL, which helps transport and bus companies to select the right alternative drive system for their application. Visitors can also learn about facts, figures and data on market development in ElektromobilitätsMONITOR (electric mobility monitoring tool). These can be accessed on the following websites: www.ebustool.de and www.elektromobilitaetsmonitor.de.

Dagmar Fehler, CEO and Spokesperson of NOW GmbH: “NOW has many years of broad expertise in sustainable drives for trucks and commercial vehicles. This is evident from the numerous new and already established products that we will present this week to trade visitors at the IAA Transportation trade fair for commercial vehicles. Stakeholders from industry like vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, hauliers, charging infrastructure operators as well as decision-makers in politics and municipal administrations reap the benefit of NOW’s work.”

You can find NOW’s exhibition stand in Hall 13, stand number D26. The NOW specialist teams for climate-friendly vehicles, bus and rail as well as the National Centre for Charging Infrastructure look forward to welcoming many visitors.
