The "Digital Empowerment of Green Development Industry Matchmaking Conference - Implementation of the "Framework Initiative for International Economic and Trade Cooperation in Digital Economy and Green Development"" was successfully held at the 3rd Global Digital Trade Expo. The conference was hosted by the Global Digital Trade Expo Organizing Committee and undertaken by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce and the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government. Assistant Minister of Commerce Tang Wenhong, Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Zhang Xuewei, Representative of the Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Zou Ciyong, and Director of the Country Project Division of the United Nations International Trade Center (ITC) Ashish Shah attended and delivered speeches.
During the meeting, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce and Deloitte China jointly released the "China Machinery and Electronic Industry Green Trade Development Report and Excellent Case Collection", and 22 companies including JA Solar were successfully selected.
In recent years, JA Solar has combined green design concepts with domestic and international green product standards, continued to increase the development of green certified products, production and sales ratios, strengthened carbon footprint management, and provided the market with cleaner products.
In terms of green technology, all the company's current mainstream products have passed the French Certisolis carbon footprint certification, and the p-type series products and the full range of n-type DeepBlue4.0 Pro products have successfully passed the Norwegian and Italian EPD assessments and the Korean environmental certification. The company's product technology has been included in the National Development and Reform Commission's "Green Technology Promotion Catalog" and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Green Design Product" catalog. The company has built the only national-level "Photovoltaic Industry Intellectual Property Operation Center" in the photovoltaic industry.
In terms of green production, the company's six production bases, including Qujing Base, Ningjin Base, Hefei Base, Xingtai Base, Shanghai Fengxian Base and Baotou Base, have successively won the title of "National Green Factory" awarded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In addition, JA Solar (Yangzhou) Technology Co., Ltd. and JA Solar (Yangzhou) New Energy Co., Ltd. were both shortlisted for the "Jiangsu Province Green Factory" list, and Yiwu JA Solar Technology Co., Ltd. won the title of Jinhua City Green Factory.
In terms of green electricity supply and use, by the end of 2023, JA Solar's self-owned power stations will exceed 2GW, with an annual power generation of more than 2 billion kWh. The company's internal clean energy use exceeds 1,790 GWh, and the installed capacity of distributed power stations for self-generation and self-use at production bases reaches 138MW, with a green electricity use ratio of nearly 30%.
In terms of promoting green development of the economy and society, the company has joined the United Nations Global Compact, the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), China Business Climate Action, the Photovoltaic Recycling Industry Development Cooperation Center, etc., and jointly promoted green development with companies within the organization; and guided suppliers, partners, etc. to carry out green transformation by building a green supply chain management mechanism.
Thanks to JA Solar's work in green development, in 2023, JA Solar was successfully selected into the list of "Industrial Product Green Design Demonstration Enterprises" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and in 2024 it was included in S&P Global's "Sustainable Development Yearbook (China Edition) 2024".
