The Gazprom Management Committee took note of the information about the ongoing work on implementing the projects for the production and supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

It was noted that the Company consistently reinforces its positions in this business segment in order to further increase the flexibility and reliability of consumer gas supplies.

The large-scale plant within the Sakhalin II project is successfully functioning in eastern Russia. In the country's west, the construction of the Complex for processing ethane-containing gas is in progress near Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region. The Complex will include natural gas liquefaction capacities. Gazprom has also created a mid-scale LNG production facility near the Portovaya compressor station in the Leningrad Region.

In addition to that, the Company is actively developing small-scale LNG production capacities in Russia. This product is primarily used for off-grid gas supplies to consumers located away from gas trunkline infrastructure and for refueling motor vehicles with natural gas.

As of today, a total of eight small-scale natural gas liquefaction complexes (NGLCs) of Gazprom are functioning across Russia. Two of them, namely the ones in the Amur and Volgograd Regions, were put into operation in 2023. The primary function of the NGLC in the Amur Region is to provide gas supplies to the new boiler house in the Amurselmash urban district of Belogorsk. The NGLC in the Volgograd Region serves to refuel the municipal buses of Volgograd with liquefied natural gas.

A number of other projects are being implemented. Among them are the complexes for NGV refueling (Tyumen Region) and for off-grid gas supplies to the consumers of five localities (Tomsk Region).

Apart from that, Gazprom is working to expand the use of liquefied natural gas in vehicles, for instance, in the agricultural sector. With support from Gazprom, the first prototypes of domestic LNG-powered tractors and a combine were manufactured in Russia. Other promising areas where LNG can be used include railway and waterborne transport, as well as industrial machinery. For instance, new models of Russian special-purpose motor vehicles and construction machinery powered by compressed natural gas and liquefied natural gas were presented in October at St. Petersburg International Gas Forum 2024.

The issue of the ongoing work on implementing the projects for the production and supply of LNG will be submitted for consideration by the Gazprom Board of Directors.
