Shelf Drilling – AoC audit – Shelf Drilling Barsk – maintenance management

The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has carried out an audit of Shelf Drilling and its management of maintenance on the Shelf Drilling Barsk mobile drilling facility.
The audit was conducted from 25 to 27 September 2024 and is part of our case processing of Shelf Drilling’s application for an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) for Shelf Drilling Barsk.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify that the company’s maintenance management system operates in compliance with the regulatory requirements.
Result
Five non-conformities were identified during the audit. These comprised:
Planning
Technical barriers
Maintenance
Planning and prioritisation
Maintenance effectiveness
In addition, two improvement points were identified. These comprised:
Safety-clearance of activities
Technical operating documents
What happens next?
We have asked Shelf Drilling to report to us by 12 November 2024 on how the non-conformities will be addressed, and to give us their assessment of the improvement points observed.
