The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) has joined the Energy Charter as an official supporter, reinforcing its commitment to driving better outcomes for energy consumers and communities through responsible renewable energy development.
EnergyCo chief executive James Hay said the partnership marks a significant milestone and aligns with industry-wide collaborative efforts to foster greater transparency, accountability, and local community engagement.
“We’re very pleased to join the Energy Charter with a membership that builds on our ongoing efforts to ensure people remain at the heart of what we do,” he said.
“We look forward to working together with the Energy Charter and other member organisations.”
As part of these efforts, Mr Hay is now a member of the Energy Charter CEO Council. This strategic forum brings together key leaders across the sector to align on shared initiatives, including supporting vulnerable customers in advancing the clean energy transition.
In the coming months, EnergyCo will actively contribute to #BetterTogether initiatives, which are collaborative projects designed to identify and implement impactful changes across the sector.
EnergyCo will also engage with the Energy Charter's ‘Maturity Model’ to assess its progress and to co-design innovative solutions for sustainable energy delivery with other signatories.
The Energy Charter began in 2019 as a coalition of energy organisations across the supply chain, with a shared focus to keep customers and communities at the centre of design and delivery of energy solutions.
