Yinson and Yinson GreenTech were recently awarded Gold for ‘Excellence in Environmental, Social, and Governance’ and the ‘Best Initiative in Innovation’ recognition, respectively, at The Asset ESG Corporate Awards 2024 held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Singapore.
The Asset ESG Corporate Awards benchmarks and evaluates listed companies’ corporate sustainability performance covering a wide range of ESG and financial metrics to gauge management acumen. The Gold Award highlights Yinson’s outstanding efforts and initiatives to raise industry-wide ESG standards.
Yinson Chief of Staff, Liaw Thong Jung, who received the Gold award on behalf of the Group, said, “We are truly honoured to receive this prestigious recognition from The Asset for the second consecutive year. At Yinson, we remain committed to driving positive change and focusing on supporting an inclusive energy transition. This award is a testament to the dedication and passion of our business partners, clients, and our incredible team.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Best Initiative in Innovation’ recognises Yinson GreenTech’s first-to-market innovative technological initiatives. Two electric marine vessels were introduced under its marinEV brand, which are designed to enhance operational efficiency with minimal downstream emissions.
marinEV Vice President of Projects, Matthew Tseng, commented on the recognition, “This award is dedicated to our project team for their hard work and relentless drive to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in marine technology. From an airborne vessel to fully integrated navigation system and IoT devices that communicates with our digital platform, our smart vessels combine multiple innovations to lower the cost of travel while improving safety at sea. With last November’s launch of the Hydromover for light cargo transport and our upcoming launch of the Hydroglyder for crew transfer, we aim to accelerate the adoption of clean mobility on the water.”
The Asset ESG Corporate Awards is Asia’s longest-running ESG excellence recognition award. Since 2023, the focus of The Asset ESG Corporate Awards has been enhanced to recognise excellence in ESG practices and initiatives based on the core principles of intention, disclosure, and performance.
