The Gazprom Management Committee approved the 2025–2029 Technology Program for the development of the remaining recoverable reserves of the Nadym-Pur-Taz region.

The Nadym-Pur-Taz region (NPTR) in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area has traditionally been a hydrocarbon production region for the Gazprom Group. It should be noted that its reserves partially lie in hard-to-reach Achimov and Jurassic formations, which are located deeper than the traditional Cenomanian and Valanginian deposits and are characterized by an abnormally high formation pressure and temperature.

Gazprom comprehensively works to make sure that the reserves of the Nadym-Pur-Taz region are developed in the most efficient and rational way possible.

The Company in a stepwise manner launches the development of the Achimov formations. For instance, commercial development of Block 3A commenced at the Urengoyskoye field in May 2024. The block thus became the fifth one being developed within the Achimov deposits. Geological exploration of the Achimov, Jurassic and other deposits of the NPTR is underway. At the request of Gazprom, Russian enterprises develop cutting-edge technologies and equipment for the extraction of difficult reserves. For example, domestic prototypes of rotary steerable systems for drilling wells of significant length are currently undergoing testing.

The Technology Program contains a systematic formulation of potential solutions to be used for the development of the remaining reserves of the NPTR. The document contains the description of the activities to be carried out for the development of technologies most effective for the region, as well as for the testing of such technologies and their adaptation to the conditions of their application and subsequent large-scale implementation at the production facilities of the Gazprom Group.

The Gazprom Management Committee also approved the Comprehensive Target Program for the reconstruction and re-equipment of automated process control systems at the facilities of Gazprom. The document covers the period from 2025 through 2029.
