China Petroleum Network News (Reporter Fu Linshu, Correspondent Peng Wei) On November 26, the reporter learned from the China Petroleum Petrochemical Research Institute that the metallocene catalyst PME-18 independently developed by China Petroleum has successfully completed long-term industrial applications, and has been stably operating for more than 190 hours in the 300,000 tons/year full-density polyethylene unit of Lanzhou Petrochemical, and has produced nearly 7,200 tons of metallocene polyethylene film special material mPE1018 products, with a product qualification rate of 100%. This indicates that the metallocene catalyst PME-18 can be mass-produced, which will effectively promote the high-quality development of China Petroleum's high-end polyolefin business.
Metallocene polyethylene has excellent performance, and its production technology level is an important indicator of the development level of a country's polyolefin industry. Catalyst preparation is the core technology for producing metallocene polyethylene. In this regard, the Petrochemical Research Institute has focused on high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and developed the metallocene catalyst PME-18, which has achieved the same use effect as foreign catalysts while significantly reducing costs.
In view of the high requirements of the existing metallocene polyethylene production equipment for catalyst polymerization activity, polymer fine powder content and reactor electrostatic control ability, the research team has successively solved technical problems such as difficulty in increasing the loading of catalyst active components, uneven distribution of active centers, and poor separation of homogeneous components, and developed an engineering scale-up preparation technology for metallocene catalysts, completed the ton-level production task of catalysts, and firmly grasped the key core technologies in their own hands. The success of this industrial application will accelerate the promotion and application of my country's independent catalysts.
