Qair has signed a landmark Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (cPPA) to supply renewable energy to Safran’s facilities in Poland, including plants in Sedziszów Malopolski and Ropczyce.
Effective from 2024 to 2036, the agreement aligns with Safran’s global decarbonisation strategy, which includes reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its plants and production processes by 30% by 2025 and by 50% by 2030 compared to 2018.
The energy will be sourced from Qair’s dedicated wind farm in Stawiszyn and photovoltaic farm in Stoszowice, providing nearly 20 GWh annually and totaling 233 GWh over the contract. This innovative deal consolidates multiple customers under one contract, offering fixed energy pricing and guarantees of origin.
“Cooperation with the Safran Group is another agreement confirming the effectiveness of our strategy to support corporate clients in changing their energy policies. At the same time, we are opening up to a new industry of strategic importance – Safran is a world leader in production for the needs of the aviation and defense industry” – says Krzysztof Wojtysiak, president of Qair Polska.
This agreement highlights Qair’s growing role in driving industrial decarbonisation by delivering tailored renewable energy solutions. Following the inauguration of a photovoltaic plant in Morocco two years ago to supply another Safran facility, this partnership reinforces Qair’s commitment to supporting Safran’s sustainability goals and advancing the global transition to clean energy.
