Skånetrafiken has awarded Nobina the contract to continue operating and developing bus services across Malmö. As always, sustainability, safety, and excellent customer service are at the heart of Nobina’s work.
To support sustainable travel, nearly all 286 buses in the fleet will be electric, with only ten biogas buses transitioned from the current operations. This is the largest dedicated city bus procurement in Sweden!
The agreement includes two newly built depots, located at Sturkögatan and Lockarp, which will be ready for use when the contract begins in June 2027. The contract will run for 12 years.
The contract also includes the continued expansion of MalmöExpressen routes, Skånetrafiken’s electric city bus concept, which already plays a key role in Malmö’s public transport system.

The award decision can be appealed until December 16, 2024.
