Completion of the 40,000 DWT bulk carrier "FENJA BULKER."

On Tuesday, December 10th, NYK delivered the 40,000 DWT bulk carrier "FENJA BULKER," built by Shimanami Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., an NYK group company.

¦Target cargo
bulk carrier with a semi-box-shaped hold structure equipped with top side tanks, and the 5-hold/5-hatch cargo holds allow for alternate loading of high density cargo (3.0 t/m3 ) , and the design is suitable for loading a wide variety of cargo such as long objects and coils in addition to bulk cargo such as coal/ore, and also for transporting grains by making use of the top side tanks.

¦Cargo handling equipment
total of four deck cranes are installed on each cross deck, and each cargo hold is equipped with folding-type hatch covers that are excellent for saving labor and space.

¦ Environmental Response
The ship is equipped with equipment that satisfies various regulations for preventing air pollution under the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL).
In particular, the ship is equipped with equipment that satisfies the current requirements (Phase 2) for carbon dioxide emission control indicators, and also meets the Phase 3 requirements that will be required for ships built after 2025. As an environmental conservation measure, the ship is also equipped with a ballast water treatment system and an inventory list based on the Ship Recycling Convention.

: Energy-saving attachments installed near the propeller, a highly efficient propeller, and hull paint that reduces frictional resistance with seawater result in high propulsion performance.
