Green hydrogen developer Yamna has signed a land reservation agreement with the Port of Açu for a renewable ammonia project with a production capacity of up to one million tonnes per year. The project will require around 1.8GW of electrolysers to support this output.
The agreement adds 2 square kilometres to the 1 square kilometre of land already allocated to Yamna.
The Port of Açu handles approximately 40 per cent of Brazil’s oil and gas exports and is entirely privately owned by a joint venture between Port of Antwerp-Bruges International and Prumo Logistica, which is backed by US-based EIG and Abu Dhabi’s state-owned investment firm Mubadala.
