DNV announced that it has been accredited as a Technically Assured Organisation (TAO) by Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW). The achievement underlines DNV’s reputation as a trusted partner for delivering critical infrastructure projects.

TfNSW is the government agency responsible for transport services and infrastructure in Australia’s most populous state, including the country’s most populous city Sydney. It manages most train, bus, ferry and light rail services in New South Wales, accounting for an average of more than one million trips per work day.

The TfNSW TAO Scheme recognises organisations that meet rigorous technical and safety standards in the transport sector. Accreditation follows an evidence-based assessment that ensures accredited organisations have the necessary expertise, systems, processes and capabilities to deliver projects aligned with the complex requirements of the transport infrastructure industry. TAO status is often a prerequisite for tendering on major transport infrastructure projects in New South Wales.

Following its TAO accreditation, DNV is poised to support TfNSW with global expertise in:
System engineering and assurance
System integration
Requirements management
Technical system interface management
Verification and validation
Reliability, availability and maintainability management
Independent safety assessment
Sustainability and environmental engineering

“We are proud to have achieved TfNSW’s TAO accreditation,” said Farshad Ferdowsi, Area Manager for Australia and New Zealand, Supply Chain & Product Assurance, DNV. “This significant milestone highlights our commitment to technical and operational excellence. Importantly, it allows us to provide greater value in ensuring the safety, reliability and environmental responsibility of critical infrastructure in New South Wales, including the state’s transport and power networks. We look forward to collaborating with TfNSW and its other TAO partners to increase both public safety and long-term asset sustainability.”

As an accredited TAO, DNV is in a position to participate in initiatives to improve energy efficiency and advance renewable energy across Australia. This directly supports TfNSW’s vision to create a more sustainable and more resilient transport infrastructure.
