EnerSys (NYSE: ENS), a global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications, announced the successful completion of contract and funding negotiations with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). This final agreement secures a $199 million award from the DOE’s Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains, which will support the construction of EnerSys’ state-of-the-art lithium-ion cell production facility in Greenville, South Carolina.

The Greenville facility will span 500,000 square feet and is set to produce advanced lithium-ion cells for critical applications across commercial, industrial, and defense end markets.
