Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Eng. Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, stressed the ministry's keenness to increase production capacities in the refining sector. This came during his chairmanship, today, Thursday, of the first meeting of the Opinion Board for the year 2025. The Minister said that this year will witness an increase in the production rates of petroleum derivatives in a number of projects implemented by the ministry, including the FCC project in the Southern Refineries Company, which is an important qualitative project in the refining sector.
During the meeting, the topics included in the agenda were reviewed and decisions and directives were taken that serve the development of the gas, refining, extraction and distribution sectors.
The meeting was attended by members of the Opinion Board, the undersecretaries, advisors and general managers of companies and departments in the oil sector.
