Vattenfall joins the Corporate Leaders Group Europe (CLG) highlighting its commitment to a fossil-free future. The CLG unites business leaders across sectors to pursue a shared mission: achieving climate neutrality in Europe by 2050.

Competitiveness is at the centre of discussions this week. With the European Commission releasing the Competitiveness Compass and Anna Borg participating in the World Economic Forum in Davos, one thing is clear: Europe must leverage the energy transition to enhance its competitiveness against other geographies. Achieving this requires not only innovation but also collaboration across value chains and industries. Cross-sectoral collaboration accelerates the energy transition by aligning a shared vision and path to net-zero by working for solutions that drive both climate action and economic growth.

In this spirit, Vattenfall is proud to announce its membership in the Corporate Leaders Group Europe (CLG), founded by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. The CLG unites business leaders across sectors to pursue a shared mission: achieving climate neutrality in Europe by 2050. Joining hands with industry leaders reinforces our commitment to working hand-in-hand across sectors to shape a fossil-free future.

‘’Europe’s path to a competitive future lies in delivering on climate neutrality by 2050– and collaboration is key to achieving it.’’ says Anna Borg. ‘’At Vattenfall, we are committed to building a future where everyone can choose fossil free ways to move, make and live. As a leading European energy company committed to reaching net-zero by 2040, we are pleased to join the Corporate Leaders Group Europe and collaborate with like-minded industry leaders in our joint mission of taking Europe’s energy transition forward.’’

Vattenfall is focusing on supporting entire value chains to break free from fossil fuels. By partnering with other innovative and forward-thinking businesses across sectors, we reaffirm our commitment to driving the energy transition forward. Through collaborations like the CLG, we strengthen our collective ability to shape a sustainable, competitive future for Europe, where fossil freedom and competitiveness go hand in hand.

CISL’s Corporate Leaders Groups bring together business leaders committed to supporting the transformation to competitive, sustainable, inclusive economies that will deliver net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Through exchange of evidence-based ideas and influential discussions with policymakers and peers, the Corporate Leaders Groups advocate for robust business and policy solutions to the environmental and sustainability challenges facing our planet.
