OIEC Completes 2nd Overseas Pipe Laying Project

TEHRAN – Offshore Installations Engineering and Construction (OIEC) Company has finished its second overseas pipe laying project.The company used the world’s most advanced lay barge named Jackson-5 to implement pipe laying phase of Qatar’s QPD project.
Director of planning and project control of the company told Petroenergy Information Network that the barge has completed QPD project at record rate of 3.5 km per day and is heading toward Salman region for a similar project.
Abbas Haji Qasemi added that QPD project was the second overseas project to be implemented by the company after India’s RSPPM project..
He said the project included undersea cabling, installations of jackets and PLEM and the project has so far progressed 54 percent..
The client for QPD project is Qatar’s petroleum development company and is to be finished by next August..
