Oil and Minerals Minister Amir Salim al Aidrous discussed on Thursday with a number of officials from world oil companies arrangements for the third Yemeni oil, gas and minerals conference set to take place on 18-19 October in Sana'a.
At the meeting deputy minister, head of the preparatory committee for the conference, Ahmed Daris, said the commissions preparing for the conference are working hard, and arrangements for promoting 20 investment opportunities in oil and gas fields have been completed.
The preparatory commission approved 30 working papers that will be presented at the conference by local and world petroleum companies operating in Yemen about their success stories and future investments and projects.
Al Aidrous has previously extended invitations to Arab and foreign oil companies to attend the conference which aims to promote oil and gas investment opportunities in Yemen.
In his invitations, the minister said Yemen will offer ten open blocks for investment in gas and oil and urged the companies to benefit from facilities provided amid the extension of this sector.
Also, the ministry has said there were new mechanisms for attracting a large number of foreign companies to invest in open Yemeni blocks.
