Source: Bloomberg 7/11/2011, Location: Asia

BP Plc shut production at the Chirag 1 Platform in Azerbaijan for planned maintenance. The platform normally produces about 80,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day, accounting for about 10 percent of output at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli project. Chirag will be down for a few weeks, said Toby Odone, a London-based BP spokesman. BP is the operator of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli. The State Oil Co. of Azerbaijan, known as Socar, as well as Chevron Corp., Statoil ASA and Exxon Mobil Corp. own stakes in the project as partners.
