Source: Reuters 9/6/2011, Location: Middle East

Qatar's Rasgas is to shutdown its liquefied natural gas production Train 7 for maintenance in January, a Rasgas spokesperson said. "The planned routine maintenance on Train 7 will take place in January 2012," a Rasgas spokesperson said, declining to specify the length of the outage. The plant, which has the capacity to liquefy 7.8 million tonnes of natural gas per year, started production last year.

Rasgas, a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil, is one of two liquefied natural gas (LNG) producers in Qatar, the world's largest LNG exporter with the capacity to produce 77 million tonnes a year of gas chilled to liquid form for export by ship.
