Aker Kvaerner has signed a partnership agreement with BASF Antwerpen N.V., to provide engineering services at BASF's Antwerp, Belgium site - the second largest production location within the BASF group after Ludwigshafen, Germany. The contract is effective immediately. Aker Kvaerner will provide multi-discipline, detailed engineering services for a variety of operations and infrastructure requirements - covering small and medium size projects at the site. The duration of this agreement is for an initial period of three years, with the possibility of inclusion of some front-end study work as required.
"This is an important and strategic partnering agreement for Aker Kvaerner," says Mark Leggett, president of Aker Kvaerner's Engineering Services business. "The co-operation between partners will stimulate synergies and streamline activities. With our extensive multidiscipline engineering expertise, supported by our proven project execution methodology and our commitment to continual HSE improvement, we look forward to working with BASF to increase efficiency and create added value engineering."
Francis Dumez, Director of BASF's Site Engineering, confirms: "We selected Aker Kvaerner as one of two partners because of the company's track record in similar projects, in-depth knowledge of local conditions, combined with its ability to tap into broader resources in its group. Aker Kvaerner also demonstrated a strong focus on delivering cost-effective, reliable and technically integrated engineering services."
