NABUCCO Gas Pipeline International GmbH has appointed Gabor Bercsi as Managing Director of Nabucco National Company Hungary effective 1 February.
Mr. Bercsi has extensive experience in the energy sector. In his previous position as Managing Director of Sinergy Energy Service in Budapest, a subsidiary of RWE, he successfully set up the company and over ten years directed it toward the strong market position it holds now.
“I am very pleased to join Nabucco Hungary and to take on this new and exciting opportunity. Nabucco will bring more supply stability and many benefits to the economy of Hungary and I am happy to contribute to the success of this project,” said Mr. Bercsi.
The Nabucco project is making strong progress in Hungary. The Environmental and Social Impact Assessment is ongoing, three of four environmental permits were granted last year and the remaining permit is expected in the first quarter of 2012.
